Summary of Practice

Paul Davies has a broad civil and commercial practice.  He has experience dealing with a wide range of commercial contract and property disputes.  He has acted for both landlords and tenants in disputes concerning dilapidations, rent reviews, assignation of leases and keep-open clauses, and conducted litigations in relation to agency, building, coal mining, partnership and employment contracts.  He has acted in a number of professional negligence claims arising out of property, lease and trust matters.

Paul also has experience in banking, diligence and insolvency law having dealt with a large number of disputes for and against banks in relation to securities and guarantees, as well as acting for and advising trustees and liquidators.

He maintains a significant interest in sports law, having advised and acted for the Scottish Premier League, as well as a number of major football clubs and sportsmen and sports agents.

He also has an interest in trusts, succession and taxation having advised trustees and beneficiaries in relation to the recent changes in the taxation of trusts.

Paul appears regularly in the Inner and Outer House, including the commercial court.  He also has experience of arbitration, the Lands Tribunal and other tribunals.
