Summary of Practice

Prior to becoming an advocate Catriona worked as a solicitor for several years in both private practice and the public sector.

After qualifying Catriona worked in commercial property in the private sector which included a secondment for a year to the London office of a Scottish firm to assist on a major commercial property project.

Catriona's most recent role prior to becoming an advocate was as senior solicitor in the planning and property section of a local authority where her primary clients were the planning department, the technical services department (roads) and the estates department. Responsibilities included the representation of the local authority's interests at sheriff court and tribunals, as well as appearing at planning inquiries.

Whilst working at the local authority experience was also gained in mental health, guardianship, child protection, employment and committee work.  Catriona was also a member of the Freedom of Information working group.
