Summary of Practice

Since calling at the Bar, Shona Haldane's practice has focussed exclusively on civil work. Within that broad category, her practice has centred primarily on cases arising out of alleged professional negligence, commercial disputes and complex personal injury cases. These have ranged from cases concerning wrongful birth to cases under the Warsaw Convention on the Carriage of Passengers by Air in the House of Lords. She also has a considerable Public Law Practice in her capacity as Standing Junior to the Home Office, having previously represented the Forestry Commission in Scotland. In her Standing Junior capacity she has also represented other Departments of the United Kingdom Government from time to time.  Shona has also recently been appointed an Ad Hoc Advocate Depute by the Crown Office.
