Summary of Practice

Peter Macdonald's main practice is in reparation. This includes having acted in respect of more accidents in the offshore oil and gas industry and the fishing industry than anyone else at the Scottish Bar. Although in recent years most of his work has been for pursuers, he has also acted for a significant number of defenders. His advocacy experience is wide, having appeared in courts throughout Scotland, he also has considerable experience of appellate work in Edinburgh and has conducted a case in the House of Lords.
He also has significant experience of work, including the provision of opinions, in respect of heritable property and succession disputes. He has appeared in many actions seeking judicial review of decisions of public officials and of inferior tribunals.
