Head of Arnot Manderson appointed a Judge

Arnot Manderson Advocates are delighted to announce that Her Majesty the Queen, on the recommendation of the First Minister, has today appointed Mr Colin Tyre QC as a Senator of the College of Justice.  He will take up his appointment on 3rd May 2010.

Mr Tyre graduated from Edinburgh University in 1977 and holds a postgraduate diploma from University of Aix-Marseille. He was admitted as a member of the Faculty of Advocates in 1987, having previously lectured in law at Edinburgh University. Mr Tyre has practised as an advocate since 1987 and as Queens Counsel since taking silk in 1998. Between 2003 and 2009 he served as a part-time Commissioner of the Scottish Law Commission. In 2007 he was elected President of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), the representative organisation of the legal profession in Europe.

Mr Tyre has been Head of the Arnot Manderson Stable since it's formation almost two and a half years ago.  Everyone at the stable wishes Colin well in his new role.
